Welcome to Elephant Class

Class Teacher: Eszter Scheibner-Vasarhelyi

My name is Eszter and I joined College Park School in September 2024. Having been a teacher and teaching assistant for 10 years, I have worked in a number of different settings in both special needs and mainstream schools. My first degree was in Journalism and Human Rights, followed by training to become a teacher at a special needs school and completing a postgraduate certificate in Social Justice and Education. 

The young people I am working with in Elephant class follow a semi-formal and informal pathway. These includes lessons such as Thinking and Problem Solving, Communication, Food tech and other life skills based learning to get them ready for post 16. The learning is centred around the individual needs of every student to make it as accessible and meaningful as possible. 

Regular trips into the community further aid Elephant class students with their independents. Our young people are supported by our fantastic teaching assistants who go above and beyond to support and encourage them in every way. 

As a team, we are truly looking forward to what other adventures this year may hold.
